MEMBERS ACHIEVEMENTS

YEAR 2009

The Freestyle World Championships were held in Thun, Switzerland this year. The GB team won 3 gold and 1 silver medal.  Dave Bainbridge took the gold in a C1 to add to his British and European titles.  A  fantastic achievement.

The British Freestyle Championships were held at HPP in October.  Matt Rodgers, Gabby Bates & Dave Bainbridge took part with Dave retaining the British C1 title Gabby retaining the Junior Ladies (U18) title.

The Youth Freestyle saw Richard Homer, Matt Rodgers & Gabby Bates taking part again this year.  These are fun events which include coaching for beginners, fun racing, usually without spraydecks & paddles, and a competition in the afternoon.  The finals this year were held at HPP.  Gabby took first place in the U15 girls category, Matt took 3^rd in the U15 boys category. Although not in a medal position, Richard performed some killer entry moves. 

Sally Cresswell Cast’s main discipline is Slalom.  Sally trains every Thursday night, 12 months of the year at Matlock.  The dedication has paid dividends and she is now ranked 12^th in Division 2.  Sally also holds gold medals in Life Saving and Swimming
